With so much scandal and chaos going on in the World, it feels good to put your money toward good causes and sustainable ideas.  Lately I’ve been thinking more than twice about where my money is going after recently feng-shui-ing my wallet and finding some receipts I was less than happy with.  I’ve been trying to be extremely mindful of where my thoughts, actions & hard-earned cash are being directed.  I clean my wallet out to save receipts that I need for things like tax write-offs (which happens every day at my job), but I get rid of general dirt & things like business cards from people I don’t remember. 🙂   Wildlife Works makes an amazing commitment to quality and conservation, and I recommend them to anyone who’s looking to spruce up your spring or summer wardrobe.  They sent my over this fantastic, beautiful vest that was absolutely perfect for Mexico!  And I will definitely be saving my pennies for some extra goodies from them for friends & family come holidays!  It feels great to support sustainable fashion.

Wildlife Works is the world’s leading REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation), project development and management company with an effective approach to applying innovative market based solutions to the conservation of biodiversity. REDD+ was originated by the United Nations (UN) to help stop the destruction of the world’s forests.  Twenty percent of the world’s annual greenhouse gas emissions come from the destruction of tropical forests. REDD projects help to prevent the destruction of these forests by providing sustainable economic alternatives to those rural communities.

Over a 15 year history Wildlife Works established a successful model that uses the emerging marketplace for REDD+ Carbon Offsets to protect threatened forests, wildlife, and communities.

The company helps local landowners in the developing world monetize their forest and biodiversity assets whether they are governments, communities, ownership groups, or private individuals.

The essence of the Wildlife Works REDD+ conservation strategy is based on job creation. Jobs create a viable alternative for people that have previously had to destroy their environment just to survive.

Some of the jobs created at our REDD+ projects include; conservation rangers, factory workers, horticulturalists, machinists, seamstresses, foresters, carpenters, construction workers, drivers, mechanics and administrative personnel. The company also finances the development of small businesses such as an eco-clothing factory, and sustainable charcoal production and distribution.

We believe that all species have an intrinsic right to exist on Earth, without having to prove their value.

We believe that all people have a right to feel safe and secure in their traditional home, to raise and educate their children, to aspire to a better life, or to cherish the life they have.

We believe that increasingly these two principles conflict, when human communities expand into wilderness, in search of a new home or income, and begin to compete with wildlife for water, food and the use of natural resources.

Put your mind and your money towards supporting the cause.  Live in harmony.

Love!!
