One of the most incredible things I’ve been blessed enough to do this year is the video for Visual Exchange. It meant the World to me to be able to see my vision for this song come to life. Dreams come true.
When I first wrote it, I shot up in bed around 4 in the morning with the melody playing over and over again in my head. I wrote it down ferociously, darted up to the recording studio and laid down the piano line, and recorded it the next day.
After a few revisions, I approached my dear friend Jamie of JROCK studios and asked if he wouldn’t mind recording it with me in New York when I came home for the summer. Over two sessions and a few weeks of his time and talent, I had a product that I was really proud of!
With the creative vision, outpouring of support & timeless talent of Kris Rodammer, this fantastic little r&b/pop collaboration really came to life! From tea staining paper with me, to cross-country dress fittings, to writing to City Hall, Kris’s ceaseless effort to realize what we wanted exactly how we wanted it, and settle for no less, over countless days and hours, provided me a creative outlet that has truly shaped how I deal with and respect my art. Don Packer’s relentless and amazing editing made our vision come to life with absolute seamless perfection. I couldn’t have asked for more! I am so happy to share with you some behind the scenes shots from that incredible day, shot and edited by the very talented Bob Packert.
What a beautiful life & year and an incredible journey.
A big thank you to Bre Welch, Dan Finlayson, Rob Bessette, Frank McClelland and Apple Street Farm, the rest of the amazing crew, and everyone for their creative input and beautiful reception!
