6. KidStock Music & Art Festival at Greystone Mansion

I worked KidStock today, which was a really fantastic experience!  This fun-filled family day of music and Art benefits One Voice Scholars program, a charity that helps support children and encourages interest in the Arts.  Me and Josh worked the Green Room and met some incredible people, rocked out and had a great time!  It was really amazing to watch children make music and live their dreams, to meet celebrities (and their children!), who are really interested in music and charities to help educate and support others.  I had a great time!  Check out some of these bands: Jami Belushi, Flyby4, Rhythm Child, & more!  They really blew me away, and chasing after rug rats all day made me super happy, but very VERY glad that I only have to deal with my dog for now! 🙂

5. Goodebox

Man, my Goodebox just gets better and better every month!  I’ve been subscribed to them for over half a year now, and each month delivers Organic Beauty & Food Goodies straight to my door!  For $16 a month, you get up to 6-7 sample sizes of trial sized, healthy beauty, beauty related wellness & personal care products that range in size from 1-2 use packets to several use travel size.  Goodebox only works with thoroughly evaluated, mission based brands committed to creating healthier, more sustainable products.  This means the products in each Goodebox will certainly be cleaner than their conventional counterparts, with a focus on cleaner formulations, beneficial ingredients, and steering clear of ingredients that rank high on the risky, not so great for you scale.

4. Frida Kahlo

As you may have noticed, Frida is a staple in my mood boards, meditation practices and all over my life.  She’s a huge mentor of mine, having suffered and overcome tremendous body pain after a trolley accident, including a broken spinal column, broken collarbone, broken ribs and pelvis, eleven fractures in her right leg and a crushed and dislocated right foot and dislocated shoulder.  Sheesh.

The bisexual med student abandoned the study of medicine to become a painter after her tragic accident (you see where my affinity lies, eh?).  She painted to occupy her time during her temporary immobilization. Her self-portraits were a dominant part of her life when she was immobile for three months after her accident. Kahlo once said, “I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best.”

Although she recovered from her injuries and eventually regained her ability to walk, she had relapses of extreme pain for the remainder of her life. The pain was intense and often left her confined to a hospital or bedridden for months at a time. She had as many as thirty-five operations as a result of the accident, mainly on her back, her right leg, and her right foot. The injuries also prevented Kahlo from having a child because of the medical complications and permanent damage.

Taking what ails you and making a career, a life out of it, turning it into art, relying on it for wellness is the biggest inspiration to me.  I really admire Frida and turn to her in many hours of pain and feelings of helplessness.

3. Vegan Soap Bar & Skin Clarifier

Aquarian Bath makes an AMAZING Vegan Soap Bar that I absolutely adore!  It has literally transformed my skin!  I went from stressing out over breakouts to completely not having to worry (provided I frequently wash my pillows!) for a little over a month now.  This bar is also travel-friendly!  I brought it with me to New York, Mexico and Italy which is so fantastic!  I still sometimes forget and bring liquids and end up throwing them out at TSA – What I waste!  No longer – LOVE this option!  It’s SLS Free, Vegan, Palm Free, Dye Free, Paraben Free, Chemical Free & they use NO animal testing!

1. Essential Oil Patches

are my new favorite thing!  EOP reached out to me a few weeks ago and I finally got to give their Aromatherapy patches a good college try after getting back from Italy!  The Essential Patch is the all-natural, organic way to immediately relieve your body’s most common ailments and boost your immunity using aromatherapy. The patches are hypo-allergenic, latex-free, preservative-free and made with organic therapeutic grade essential oils. Each Essential Patch contains a specific oil formula designed to absorb both topically through the skin and directly through aromatic inhalation. Press a patch on and feel the benefits immediately. Get Patched! Whether you’re suffering from lack of energy, stress, insomnia, headaches, cough and colds or seasonal allergies, the Essential Patch has an all-natural, fast acting remedy to suit your needs.

They sent me the Stress Relief Patch (and boy – do I need it now-a-days!) and I can’t get enough!  I put one on before bed each night and I carry them around with me for immediate relief of stress and anxiety.  Each essential oil aromatherapy formula works with your body by targeting the root of the condition and enhancing strength and overall optimal health.

Thank you very much.
