5 New Ways To Use Your Beauty Products

Cleaner, greener beauty is going mainstream. 2017 may finally be “The Year of Green Beauty,” thanks to many more retail stores, women, millennial moms (and even guys!) getting more clear on their health and wellness. My beauty cabinets are stocked full of both tried-and-true brands as well as a handful of the hundreds of new clean beauty brands that emerged this year. It’s been amazing to watch the revolution grow! With so many products hitting the mainstream, and this being the season of minimalism, I thought I’d cut down on some of my products and give you five ways to use the natural beauty goods you already have in new and interesting ways. Read my suggestions below…

The highlighter you never knew you had…

Waxelene is a potent multi-tasking petroleum jelly alternative. It has hundreds of uses already as a moisturizer, diaper cream, healing balm, hair gel, anti-chafe, after-shave, body lotion and more. But did you know you can also use this product as a highlighter for your face? That’s right – after applying your makeup (or maybe in lieu of it!) add a dab of Waxelene to your favorite liquid highlighter for a beautiful sheen, or use on its own for a gorgeous glow. A little goes a long way and you’ll be dewey for hours!

Drink your dirt…

I adore face masks for banishing blemishes and lightening acne scars. But did you know you can benefit from drinking your mask as well? Add a teaspoon of an organic face mask like Odacite’s Skin Perfecting Masque to a glass of water. This purifying mask includes healing ingredients like Bentonite Clay, Papaya Enzymes and activated charcoal, which can detoxify the body from the inside, out! This helps gut health, stomach issues, skin, digestion and so much more. Be sure to check the ingredients before consuming, and check with your doctor before consuming if you take any medications.

Healthy skin for you – and your best friend…

Just about everything that can help you can also help your dog or kitty, too! Add a scoop of organic coconut oil into their food at night to help keep their coat shiny. If they’re having skin or digestion issues, add a teaspoon of bentonite clay to your pooch’s water at dinner time. Break out the organic french green clay and make a mask if you spot any tumors or skin growths. Wrap the tumor or growth in a clay/water mixture, and watch as they diminish and then disappear. It may take a few weeks, but don’t give up! I’ve rid my older doggie of three or four tumors this way, when the vet had suggested surgery or a more aggressive form of treatment.

All over enhancement…

Genetix Organic Enhancement Oil is designed to be used on your chest and decolletage. But did you know this oil can be used to “enhance” and enlarge your lips and butt, too? Yep – just massage on at night for a near-instant plumping effect. The more you do it, the better your results! That’s one less squat you need to do and one less plumping lip product you need to buy. Voila!

Toner as perfume…

One of my favorite uses for toner is to double as a perfume. I use Lotus Wei’s Infinite Love as a mist for my face, but it also makes a wonderful, light scent to spray on before a meeting or coffee date. Find toners that don’t contain any jarring scents. I love scents like rose, neroli and orange. Spray your clothes, pulse points and hair – then watch as people around you take notice!
