Personally, I’ve always been low maintenance when it comes to hair care. Instead of trying to fight my curls, I always just went with them. I shower, wash, condition, brush, let them air dry. I’m good to go. Unless it gets done for work, I hardly ever straighten it. Most of the time, I let it do it’s thing. Curl activators, heat locking oils, and the World of extra special conditioning treatments are pretty new to me, but in my trial and error I’ve found some real gems in the natural Conditioner section that I really just have to share! 🙂

Achieving a Natural Curl:
- Patience is key. If you’ve spent years straightening out your curl, it will take a few days for it to find it’s natural place. I recommend putting your hair up for these days if you don’t feel comfortable wearing it out yet. Do NOT give up and go back to straightening or you’ll have to start all over!
- Using a wide tooth comb, separate and comb through your hair in sections when it’s damp. This is the best and most natural way finding your own individual healthy curls!
- Run a heat locking serum or natural oils through with your fingers.
- Using your fingers, define the curls any which way you want!
- See? Wasn’t that simple? 😉

This already sounds like something you drink – not something you put in your hair! Once again, they DON’T use parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. Botanical, nourishing ingredients are just what curls need! Tip top of the game for detangling and moisture! It smells so, so delicious! Drink it up (don’t really . . . but you’ll be tempted!)
3. SheaMoisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner
Shea Moisture is the curly’s girl’s way to all natural moisture! I am totally in love with their products – from their deep masque treatment to their hand and body scrub – they seem to by the only brand that works equally well on curly hair as well as ethnic hair! For how incredible nourishing this brand is, they’ve managed to stay at a reasonable price. You can find yours at Target – most Shea Moisture products are under $15!
2. Organix Shea Butter Conditioner
There’s a lot to love about Organix products: they really work to hydrate and define curls, they’re sulfate free, they’re cruelty free, gluten free, and the packaging is environmentally friendly. My one catch? Despite the name, they’re not organic. Womp womp. One of my all-time biggest pet peeves is false advertising. :/ That said, you can make the choice! Personally, when it comes to my hair products, as long as I’m not putting a ton of chemicals in my hair, I’m totally okay with it. 🙂 Organix is one of my all-time favorite go-to products when it comes to nourishing my hair!
1. Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic PureLuxe Conditioner
Intelligent Nutrients was Founded by Horst Rechelbacher (he is also the founder of Aveda, but has not been involved with the brand since he sold it to Estee Lauder in 1997). Horst’s biggest goal is to provide his customers with 100% pure, food-based beauty that is safe and completely free of toxic ingredients. He is so adamant about the purity of his products that he grows many of his ingredients on his organic farm in Osceola, Wisconsin. Talk about dedication!
And talk about extremely effective! Lush is the only way I can describe this heavenly experience. Not only does this Conditioner smell like you got lost in the woods, leaving it in for a few minutes without brushing leaves your locks a little more untangled than they were before! In the world of curls, this is miraculous! It’s been restorative, nourishing and moisture-boosting within just a few days of my using it. After a month the results are dramatic! Beautiful, curly locks with no need for any serum after I shower! That’s intelligent luxe! 🙂
